Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are ‘tiny tastes of heaven’ to staffer

Reeses Peanut Butter Cups are tiny tastes of heaven to staffer

For us, Halloween is all about haunted houses and tricks, but what about the treats? What happened to the ecstatic feeling we used to get when we saw our favorite candy at the bottom of our bag?

Imagine this; a six year old version of you dragging a pillowcase full of candy up the front steps of your house. You stand by your kitchen table and dump the contents of the overflowing makeshift bag out onto the cleared space, and see the real reasons the world is slowly transitioning to chaos.

You stand and look at popcorn balls, salted taffy, Sixlets, Candy Corn and raisins…really? Why would someone hand out raisins to innocent trick or treaters? As you continue searching through the spilled contents of your bag you see something that catches your eye. Finally, you see the best Halloween candy of all. Maybe the world isn’t as cruel as you thought.

Reaching into the pile you grab hold of the shining star of the candy world. It is a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. These little peanut butter and chocolate cups are just tiny tastes of heaven on earth. Traditionally classified with other candy, the nutritional part of these circular yummy treats is usually forgotten. Being part of two major food groups (dairy and protein) makes them at least sort of healthy, so you can eat them without the fear of losing your girlish figure.

What I have learned over the years is that size matters, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are just the right size. They fit inside your pocket, and even if the thin PBCs melt you can still eat them. Being wrapped in their own little paper cup means the melted chocolate doesn’t go anywhere except into your mouth as a snack.

This Halloween have some fun and go trick-or-treating. While getting the bad “candy” is almost a certainty there is also a chance that you could get something really special. Something like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
