After a successful track and field season, a number of athletes placed in the UIL 8-6A Area meet and advanced to Regionals. Sophomore Brooke Boyd was Area champion in the 100 meter hurdles, freshman Adelina Martinez placed 2nd in the 800 meter run and 3rd in the 1600 meter race, and sophomore Samajai Davis set both a personal record and a school record in the 400 meter race. Additionally, the boys track and field team brought home the UIL 8-6A Area Championship crown, and is ranked 5th in the state of Texas and 14th in the country. The Colt chatted with Brooke, Adelina, and Samajai to find out how they prepared and what kept them motivated.
