As finals wrap up and the holiday break nears, “The Colt” has compiled a list of festive Christmas-themed activities to fill your time. Gather your friends and family for some fun and memory making. For more information, check out the links provided.

12 Days of Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum 

The “Twelve Days of Christmas” at the Dallas Arboretum is based on the beloved Christmas carol and each of their gazebos is decorated in a Victorian style. In addition to strolling through the gardens there are other activities and events. The daytime exhibit will be open until Jan. 7, the nighttime exhibit is open until Dec. 30, some dates excluded. Admission varies on what time you visit

During the day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. adult tickets are $15, senior tickets are $12, children (ages 3-12) are $10 and children below the age of 2 are free. Parking costs $15 unless you purchase a ticket online in advance for $8.

During the night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. adult tickets are $20, senior tickets are $15 and children of all ages are $10.

Illumination Celebration at Galleria Dallas

From noon to 8:00 pm stop by the Galleria Mall ice skating rink to see the nation’s largest indoor tree. While there, tie on some skates or do a little Christmas shopping.

Farmers Branch Tour of Lights

Drive through a winter wonderland packed with lights, music and Santa. Admission is free but a $5 per vehicle donation is suggested. This event runs from from Nov. 24 to Dec. 30 at I35 and Valley View Lane.

Christmas Movies at The Alamo Drafthouse

Both of the locations of the Alamo Drafthouse will have special December screenings of some of the most popular Christmas movies. Gather your friends and enjoy a laugh, an adventure, a love story or a good scare.

Frisco’s Christmas in the Square

If you don’t mind a little bit of a drive, head to Frisco. From now until Dec. 31 the city will be lit up with Christmas lights and on Fridays and Saturdays you can ice skate in the “snow” on the outdoor skating rink.

ICE and Lone Star Texas

Be dazzled by 2 million Christmas lights and a 54-foot tall Christmas tree decorated with 15,000 ornaments at the Gaylord Resort in Grapevine. Spend some time with family and friends making memories of some Christmas themed activities.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Dallas Children’s Theater will perform the iconic Charlie Brown Christmas. The music, the tree, and the true meaning of Christmas come alive on stage.

The Trains at NorthPark

Since 1987 The Trains at NorthPark have helped raise over $13 million for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Making a stop here will truly get you in the Christmas giving spirit. The trains run between now and Jan. 7.

Frosty and Friends

The Children’s Theater of Dallas will also perform the beloved and well known Frosty and Friends from Dec. 22 until Jan 29. Check out the show and sing along, you know the words.

Lights All Night

Lights All Night is Texas’ longest running end of year party. The music festival will be held in Dallas Market Hall on December 29 and 30. The festival includes a light show, confetti cannons and more. This is one event that is truly ‘lit’.
